Ne He Thow Growing with Community Needs
Moving Forward
With new ownership and management, Ne He Thow Store has become a vital community center as much as a convenient place to buy necessities. Its revitalization through a complete interior and exterior renovation, including new gas pumps, the addition of diesel and propane, improved quality of merchandise, more competitive pricing, and well-trained smiling staff, contributes to its new role in the community.
To ensure its role as a business leader and contributor to the economic development of Montreal Lake, the store’s management continually seeks feedback on ways it can add value for its customers, staff, and community.
Giving Back
From the beginning of her role as general manager of Ne He Thow Store, Gitta Smith’s personal mission was to come up with funding and a space to build a playground for the children of Montreal Lake. In 2018 her dream came true with the creation of the first playground, a memorial to Candy Cassidy, a little girl with a big smile and love for the outdoors. Another playground followed in 2019.
With Ms. Smith’s vision and the support of the Montreal Lake’s board, the Ne He Thow Store has contributed more than $225,000 to the creation of two playgrounds in the Montreal Lake community.
It is one of MLBV's goals to continue this tradition of investing in the growth and well-being of Montreal Lake through future community youth projects.
